Teresa Russell - Guitar and Vocals

Teresa brings a percussive and melodic guitar style to Acadiana's cajun/zydeco music. Her vocals are sassy, bluesy, rockin and somtimes a little country and she has also enjoyed co-writing much of the music for Acadiana. She has been performing on stages around the world since age 10. Teresa is the only woman ever to win the west region in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s National Lead Guitar Competition. You can also catch her playing all over California with her power blues/rock trio, Teresa Russell & Cocobilli. Music is her passion, and she lends that powerful passion to Acadiana's sound. But, we are mostly impressed with the fact that she can play her guitar with her teeth. And she often does.

Phil Salazar - Fiddle and back up vocals

Sure, he could play Mozart symphonies. Beethoven even. But you got to have more than the classics when you are Fiddlin' Phil Salazar! Fiddle champion Phil Salazar is Acadiana's playful spirit. He plays his fiddle forwards, backwards, and all around the room. Phil is a fiddle favorite and has been sought out from all over by many fiddle students for his unique style of teaching. Phil does lots of studio work, performs with lots of musicians and has done a lot of playing over the years with the John McEuen Band. He's hot! And he adds that heat to Acadiana!

Roger Reid - Drums and Vocals

Having been born in Louisiana, Roger is the closest thing to a Cajun we have in the band. Being influenced early in life by his father who played trumpet and was a Big Band Leader in his own right, Roger was classically trained on piano and multiple other instruments until finding his passion on the drums. Roger quickly grew into a sought after musician in Louisiana and now in California and has played with such luminaries as Alan Tousaint, Brian Auger, Malo, and Jorge Santana as well as many local bands and individuals. While supplying the fat back and second line for Acadiana, Roger also works with local favorites Caught Red Handed and Mark Parson’s Flambeau . While many drummers work to become funky, Roger says, “God made me funky.”

 Slide Borella - Bass Guitar

AKA Rick Borella, Slide is rock solid as a bass player. He is the throbbing pulse behind Acadiana's infectious grooves.
Rick has laid down the beat for other popular bands such as the Acousticats, the Phil Salazar band, the Lonesome Tumbleweeds and many others. He has a wonderful easy going and humble attitude and has been a pleasure to work with in this band for so many years. He is the back bone of Acadiana.

Doug Legacy - Accordion and Vocals

As one of the founding members of the Zydeco Party Band, Doug has spent a lifetime writing and making music. Just some of the folks he has performed with are Oingo Boingo, Todd Rundgren, and Paul McCartney. Doug has a huge soulful voice bringing a gutsy blues and R&B flavor to the Zydeco sound of Acadiana.

Brent Dyer "Rubboard Slim" - Rubboard and Backup Vocals

Brent has been a lover of American-roots music all his life. He particularly became drawn to the festive and soulful grooves of zydeco music from Southwest Louisiana. Upon attending many Acadiana events, Brent befriended the legendary Creole rubboard player Russell Ardoin, who took Brent under his wing, crafted a special rubboard for his soon-to-be protege, and taught Brent the grooves and techniques of the rubboard. Since then, Brent's natural talent and playful spirit on stage continues to draw fascination from the “wanna-be” rubboard players and fans as he performs regularly with Acadiana. You can also catch him playing with Lisa Haley & the Zydekats, the Zydeco Party Band, the Steve Hill Band, and the not so serious, Crawdaddy-o around Southern California and on the East Coast.

Jimmy "Bad Feets" Harvey and Carrie"Li'l Feets" Eller - Dance Instructors

Jimmy and Carrie have been entertaining and giving dance lessons to Acadiana audiences for years as well as at other major dance events. They are often asked back to the Simi Valley Cajun Festival to give dance instruction to thousands of wannabe cajun dancers. Their style of teaching is humorous and fun. Jimmy and Carrie heat up the dance floor and liven up the party. Don't be shy, join 'em!

Our Sponsor

Pat Patterson

Otherwise known as "Knuckles" started Acadiana in 1992 in Ventura with real-estate partner and Acadiana creator Terry Tintorri. Pat took up the rubboard and triangle with this band and quickly became very animated with his colorful dress, style and "class clown" persona. In June of 2002 Pat retired and he and his wife Cathrine embarked on an amazing 2 year bicycle ride around the world. This is Pat's second bike trip around the world. We hear from them often and you might want to check up on there latest adventures at www.worldriders2.com.

In Memory of ....
Terry TintorriXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Acadiana has been evolving since 1992 thanks to our founder-creator Terry Tintorri. Terry was a realitor who took a trip to Lousiana with his wife Judith and some friends. Terry fell in love with the cajun music and culture. He bought a cajun button accordian, taught himself to play it, started a band, hired some professional musicians to play with him, and introduced this festive music with all it's Mardi Gras spirit to Oxnard California. Terry, with his many talents in creating ways for people to have fun, helped Acadiana rise from playing local harbor bars to being one of the most popular festival bands in Southern California. Terry unexpectedly passed away on June 10th 2002 at 12 noon. He is deeply missed by the many who knew and loved him. But his vision and spirit of this music lives on through Acadiana and all that he gave to us.
